Minutes of the General Purposes Sub Committee Meeting held at

Hazel Grove Bowling and Tennis Club

Wednesday 20th January 2010

3. Introduction:

JS introduced Ian Dixon who had been appointed as the Sport Stockport Partnership Manager. Ian was formally welcomed to the meeting by BH.

4. Minutes:

The Minutes of the General Purposes Sub Committee meeting held on Monday 23rd November 2009 were agreed.

5. Matters Arising:

The new Sport Stockport banners still outstanding. Action BH to chase.

6. Website:

JS reported on the website statistics.

7. Sports Trust:

ID gave a presentation to the Committee on possible ways forward for Sport Stockport and the Sports Trust.

Problems identified included integration with the schools structure and three main strands were proposed relating to:

raising awareness of Sport Stockport

Coach development

Club development

It was planned to launch the proposals for addressing these issues at the AGM in May.

Meetings to be arranged on a monthly basis.

It was suggested that a quarterly news letter could be produced.

JS agreed to forward all members of the Sub Committee email addresses to ID to assist with circulating communications.

8.SPAA Update:

SPAA has now been renamed the Active Stockport Alliance. The next meeting which was scheduled for 12th January had been postponed and was rearranged for 6th February.

9. Any Other Business:

Stockport Sports Trust is hosting a 'Visioning Day' at Stockport Museum from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 a.m. on Friday 12th February 2010 to consult on the Development Plan. Volunteers welcomed. Contact Gavin Roberts for details.

BW has been accepted as a Director on to the Board of Reddish Leisure Community Interest Group. First meeting scheduled for 20 February.

Need to discuss arrangements for the Annual Dinner. Possibility of linking with the Sports Trust for a joint function.

It was agreed to leave the invitations to apply for SDCF funding in abeyance for the moment until the extent of funding is clarified.

10. Next Meeting:

The time and date of the next meeting was arranged for 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday 17th February 2010 at Hazel Grove Bowling & Tennis Club.
